My Eleventh NFL Mock Draft

Welcome to my eleventh 2012 NFL mock draft. This is my sixth three round mock draft. I predict trades in my mock drafts, because that’s what makes this so much fun!
1) Colts- Andrew Luck QB Stanford: DUH! NEXT!

2) Redskins- Robert Griffin III QB Baylor: DUH! NEXT!

3) Vikings- Matt Kalil OT USC: The Vikings are looking to trade down but if they can’t Kalil will be the pick.

4) Browns- Justin Blackmon WR Okla St: SURPRISE!! The general idea is that the Browns will take Trent Richardson but reports are the Browns are deciding between Blackmon and Ryan Tannehill. With the Browns being the only team to work out Brandon Weeden I think they will take Blackmon at four.

5) Buccaneers- Trent Richardson RB Bama: The Bucs want Richardson, when the Browns select Blackmon the Buccaneers run to turn in their card with Richardson’s name written on it.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Rams trade the #6 overall pick to the Panthers for the #9, #40 overall picks and 2013 second round pick.

Explanation: The Rams will look to trade back if Blackmon isn’t available at number six. The Panthers trade up to grab Claiborne and make him a franchise piece of their team.

6) Panthers- Morris Claiborne CB LSU: The Panthers move up to grab Claiborne and pair him with Chris Gamble at corner giving a big boost to their defense.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Jaguars trade the #7 overall pick to the Chiefs for the #11, #44 overall picks and a 2013 first round pick.

Explanation: The Chiefs are the dark horse team to get Tannehill, if he makes it past the Browns at four look for the Chiefs to trade up to number seven and grab Tannehill.

7) Chiefs- Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A&M: The Chiefs trade up and grab their QB of the future and let him sit behind Matt Cassel for a year and develop.

8) Dolphins- Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame: The Dolphins add Floyd to replace Brandon Marshall as their number one wide receiver.

9) Rams- Fletcher Cox DT Miss St: The Rams would have liked to get Michael Floyd but take Cox as plan B and add him to former first round picks DEs Chris Long and Robert Quinn.

10) Bills- Riley Reiff OT Iowa: The Bills need a left tackle and the only way they will pass on Reiff is if Michael Floyd is still available.

11) Jaguars- Melvin Ingram DE South Carolina: The Panthers need to address their pass rush as they haven’t had any good consistent pass rush in years. While Ingram has short arms, he can line up anywhere in the front seven.

12) Seahawks- Luke Kuechly MLB Boston College: The Seahawks could go DE here but with Kuechly still available they grab him and give them a force at MLB for years to come.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Cardinals trade the #13 overall pick to the Patriots for the #27, #48, #93 overall picks and a 2013 third round pick.

Explanation: The Patriots have swung and missed on many safety prospects over the years but Nick Saban called Bill Belichick and promised him Baron is the real deal.

13) Patriots- Mark Baron S Bama: The Patriots have Patrick Chung and want to pair him with another star potential safety.

14) Cowboys- Courtney Upshaw OLB Bama: The Cowboys are very interested in three defense Bama players. Baron, Upshaw and Dre Kirkpatrick. With Baron, their first choice, gone they look to add more pass rushers to their fast defense.

15) Eagles- Michael Brockers DT LSU: The Eagles want Baron, like everyone else. But take Brockers to be the big body DT they need for their “wide-9” defensive line scheme.

16) Jets- Chandler Jones OLB Syracuse: The Jets are looking to add a pass rushing OLB early in the draft and Jones’ stock has been going up over the last month and he is likely to go in the top 20.

17) Bengals- Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina: The Bengals did just sign former Cowboy Terrance Newman but he isn’t the long term answer so the Bengals add Gilmore to pair with Leon Hall.

18) Chargers- Dontari Poe NT Memphis: The Chargers lack a true noise tackle on their roster and with Poe’s upside and potential the Chargers snatch up the big man in a heartbeat.

19) Bears- Quinton Coples DE UNC: The former top ten pick slides all the way down to the Bears. The Bears are looking to add a pass rusher opposite of Julius Peppers.

20) Titans- Whitney Mercilus DE Illinois: The Titans are looking to find a play maker at defensive end. While Mercilus is a one year wonder he had 16 sacks last year.

21) Bengals- David DeCastro G Stanford: The Bengals get the corner at number 17 and then grab the best guard prospect in a long time at number 21.

22) Browns- Brandon Weeden QB Okla St: If the Browns past on Tannehill at number four and take Blackmon instead look for them to grab Weeden later in the first round.

23) Lions- Dre Kirkpatrick CB Bama: The Lions needed help at corner before losing Eric Wright in free agency. With one of the top three corners still on the board the Lions grab Kirkpatrick.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Steelers trade the #24, #56 and #86 overall picks to the Rams for the #33, #39, #65 overall picks and a fourth round pick.

Explanation: The Rams missed out on Floyd and Blackmon earlier so they are hell bent on not missing out on Stephen Hill. The Steelers trade back to pick up extra picks to fill as many of their holes as they can.

24) Rams- Stephen Hill WR Georgia Tech: The Rams want to give Sam Bradford a number one option at wide receiver. While Hill isn’t going to give the impact in year one that Floyd or Blackmon would he could be a superstar in a few years.

25) Broncos- Jerel Worthy DT Mich St: The Broncos could go offense here but they need a new starting defensive tackle and Worthy is the only one available with a first round grade.

26) Texans- Kendall Wright WR Baylor: By adding the speedy deep threat Wright it will lower the number of double teams on Andre Johnson.

27) Cardinals- Mike Adams OT Ohio St: The Cardinals trade back and still get the left tackle they need.

28) Packers- Shea McClellin OLB Boise St: The Packers want to find a pass rusher to play opposite of Clay Matthews.

29) Ravens- Peter Konz C/G Wisconsin: The Ravens will start Konz at left guard and move him over to center when starter Matt Birk retires.

30) 49ers- Cordy Glenn G/T Georgia: The 49ers gave up way to many sacks last year and lost guard Adam Snyder in free agency so to add Glenn would be a good thing.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Patriots trade the #31 overall pick to the Jets for the #47, #77 overall picks, a 2013 first, fifth and sixth round picks.

Explanation: The Jets pay a high price to jump ahead of the Steelers at number 33 to grab Dont’a Hightower mostly because it’s with in division.

31) Jets- Dont’a Hightower ILB Bama: The Jets are looking to find Bart Scott’s replacement at inside linebacker. Hightower is the kind of player Head Coach Rex Ryan would kill to have.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Giants trade the #32 and #94 overall picks to the Seahawks for the #43, #75 overall picks and a 2013 second round pick.

Explanation: The Seahawks need to add a defensive end early in the draft and with an USC DE still available the Seahawks trade back up into the first round and grab him.

32) Seahawks- Nick Perry DE USC: Head Coach Pete Carroll was the one who recruited Perry to USC so there’s a connection there as to why Carroll would push for a trade to get Perry.

33) Steelers- Jonathan Martin OT Stanford: The Steelers have to keep Big Ben up right this season.

34) Colts- Rueben Randle WR LSU: The Colts have their franchise QB now they have to give him so weapons.

35) Vikings- Harrison Smith S Notre Dame: The Vikings entire secondary needs to be upgraded, Smith is a borderline first round talent but the Vikings will gladly take him early in the second round.

36) Buccaneers- Janoris Jenkins CB North Alabama: While Jenkins would be the second corner back drafted if he didn’t have off the field issues the Buccaneers look past all that and take the risk on Jenkins early in the second round.

37) Browns- Doug Martin RB Boise St: The Browns got their number one WR and future at QB in round one so they draft a work horse running back in the second round.

38) Jaguars- Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina: The Jaguars did just sign Lee Evans but he is on a one year deal and the Jaguars want to give QB Blaine Gabbert as many weapons as possible.

39) Steelers- Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin: The Steelers continue to build up their offensive line to keep Big Ben up right.

40) Rams- Kendall Reyes DT UConn: The Rams add Reyes to pair with first round pick Fletcher Cox and their two former first round picks at DE.

41) Bills- Lavonte David OLB Nebraska: With the Bills switching to a 4-3 defense they need to add 4-3 linebackers. David is the best 4-3 linebacker in the draft.

42) Dolphins- Brock Osweiler QB ASU: The Dolphins go to plan B at QB and take Osweiler after missing out on Tannehill in round one.

43) Giants- David Wilson RB Virginia Tech: The Giants need to replace Ahmad Bradshaw and while Wilson isn’t the 265lb bruiser Jacobs is. Wilson is the best back left on the board.

44) Jaguars- Josh Robinson CB UCF: The Jaguars are looking to add a corner to their roster despite adding former Giant Aaron Ross in free agency.

45) Cowboys- Derek Wolfe DE Cincinnati: The Cowboys are looking to add a player to their defensive line rotation. Wolfe played DT at Cincinnati but will play DE in the Cowboys 3-4 defense.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Eagles trade the #46 overall pick to the Bears for the #50 overall pick and a fourth round pick.

Explanation: The Bear need a tight end and teams like the Chargers and Cardinals picking before they do at number 50 they give up the fourth round pick and move up.

46) Bears- Coby Fleener TE Stanford: The Bears need a starting TE, who can block and stretch the field over the middle and deep. Fleener give the Bears the play maker at tight end QB Jay Cutler has been looking for.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Patriots trade the #47 overall pick to the Redskins for the #70 overall pick, both 2012 fourth round picks (Redskins and Raiders) and both 2013 fifth round picks (Redskins and Patriots).

Explanation: The Redskins move up into the second round and give up five picks to do so in order to grab the tackle they really want. The Patriots move back and pick up more picks in this draft and the 2013 draft including their own 2013 fifth round pick they traded away for Albert Hayneswort.

47) Redskins- Bobby Massie OT Ole Miss: The Redskins have two huge needs they need to fix in this draft, QB and right tackle. They got RGIII so they trade away five picks to move up into the second round to get Massie who will start at right tackle from day one.

48) Cardinals- Andre Branch OLB Clemson: Branch played DE at Clemson but will play OLB in the Cardinals 3-4 defense. He will give the Cardinals depth at OLB they need.

49) Chargers- Amini Silatolu G Midwestern St: The Chargers lost starting guard Kris Dielman to an early retirement. A new starter is needed; Silatolu would have been a first round pick if he had played at a big time offensive line school like Wisconsin.

50) Eagles- Devon Still DT Penn St: According to Head Coach Andy Reid when you draft a linemen you are always making the right pick.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Eagles trade the #51 overall pick to the Broncos for the #57 overall pick and the fourth round pick from Jets.

Explanation: The Broncos need a new running back and with teams like the Lions, Bengals, and Rams picking before the Broncos do at number 57 they trade up to get the back they want.

51) Broncos- Lamar Miller RB Miami: The Broncos want to give Peyton Manning a real threat a RB so they draft Miller who reminds scouts of a young Clinton Portis.

52) Titans- Zach Brown OLB UNC: The Titans want to build this defense on speed. Brown is the fastest OLB prospect in many years.

53) Bengals- Mychal Kendricks MLB Cal: The Bengals traded Keith Rivers away so depth at linebacker is needed. While Kendricks is only 5-11 he is a tackling machine and should fit in well at MLB or OLB in the Bengals defense.

54) Lions- Trumaine Johnson CB/S Montana: The Lions add another corner and continue their secondary make over. Johnson is a big long corner and he can play either corner or safety.

55) Falcons- Mitchell Schwartz OT Cal: The Falcons are going to more former left tackle Sam Baker to left guard which means they Falcons need a new left tackle.

56) Rams- Brain Cook WR App St: Cook is a lot like Stephen Hill, who the Rams took in the first round. He isn’t going to be a big time impact player this season but he and Hill could turn into a great WR duo for QB Sam Bradford.

57) Eagles- AJ Jenkins WR Illinois: The Eagles add Jenkins to provide depth at WR in case of an injury to any of their starters get hurt.

58) Texans- Vinny Curry OLB Marshall: The Texans lost Mario Williams in free agency so they add Curry for depth.

59) Packers- LaMichael James RB Oregon: The Packers want to find a true third down running back. James reminds scouts of Saints running back Darren Sproles.

60) Ravens- Brandon Thompson DL Clemson: Thompson can play either DE or NT in the Ravens 3-4 defense so he provides depth at all three defensive line spots.

61) 49ers- Jared Crick DE Nebraska: The 49ers are looking at add depth at their defensive end spots. Crick is the best pure 3-4 DE in the draft.

62) Patriots- Bruce Irvin OLB WVU: The Patriots need to add pass rushers to their roster. While Irvin isn’t big enough to play 4-3 DE he will play 3-4 OLB and be moved around a lot to put pressure on opponents QBs.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Giants trade the #63 overall pick to the Steelers for the #65 overall pick and a fifth round pick.

Explanation: The Steelers want to jump over the Colts picking at number 64 and grab a noise tackle.

63) Steelers- Alameda Ta’amu NT Washington: The Steelers walk away from the second round with three new starters at the two biggest needs, offensive line and noise tackle.

64) Colts- Dwayne Allen TE Clemson

65) Giants- Kelehi Osemele G/T Iowa St

66) Vikings- Dwight Bently CB LA-Lafayette

70) Jaguars- Ben Jones C/G Georgia

71) Bills- Mohamed Sanu WR Rutgers

72) Dolphins- Zebrie Sanders OT Florida St

73) Dolphins- Ordson Charles TE Georgia

74) Chiefs- Bobby Wagner ILB Utah St

75) Giants- Jayron Hosley CB Virginia Tech

76) Texans- Brandon Brooks G Miami (OH)

77) Patriots- Ronell Lewis OLB Oklahoma

78) Chargers- Isaiah Pead RB Cincinnati

79) Bears- Chase Minnifield CB/S Virginia

80) Cardinals- Juron Criner WR Arizona

My Tenth NFL mock draft

Welcome to my tenth 2012 NFL mock draft. This is my fifth three round mock draft. I predict trades in my mock drafts, because that’s what makes this so much fun! In this mock draft you will see three trades between picks three and eight. Like always I will explain the trades I have executed.
1) Colts- Andrew Luck QB Stanford: DUH! NEXT!

2) Redskins- Robert Griffin III QB Baylor: DUH! NEXT!

TRADE ALERT!!! The Vikings trade the #3 overall pick to the Dolphins for the #8, #43, #72, #73 overall picks and a 2013 first round pick.

Explanation: The Dolphins offseason has been HORRIBLE! The missed on Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn and getting Head Coach Jeff Fisher and they traded Brandon Marshall away for a couple of third round pick. They are clearing rebuilding and they can sit Ryan Tannehill for a year and then start him once he is ready. The Dolphins can’t risk losing him to the Browns at four or a team that trades with the Jaguars at seven.

3) Dolphins- Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A&M: The Dolphins need a franchise guy and they love Tannehill and with veteran QBs on the roster, Tannehill can sit and learn.

4) Browns: Trent Richardson RB Bama: The Browns need a focal point of their offense. Richardson is the best running back prospect since Adrian Peterson in 2007.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Buccaneers trade the #5 overall pick to the Vikings for the #8, #42 and #72 overall picks.

Explanation: The Vikings want Matt Kalil and he likely won’t be still on the board at eight. So the Vikings take the second round pick and a third round pick they got from the Dolphins and trade up to get Kalil. The Bucs wanted Richardson but with him gone they are more willing to trade back.

5) Vikings- Matt Kalil OT USC: The Vikings need to protect Christian Ponder so getting Kalil is a must for the Vikings.

6) Rams- Justin Blackmon WR Okla St: The Rams need a number one option at WR. Blackmon is the clear number one prospect at WR.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Jaguars trade the #7 overall pick to the Bengals for the #17, #53 overall picks, the Bengals and Giants fifth round picks and a 2013 second round pick.

Explanation: The Jaguars would like to get Claiborne but corner isn’t a real need for the Jaguars so when the Bengals call they move back ten spots and get two second and fifth round picks.

7) Bengals- Morris Claiborne CB LSU: The Bengals need a shutdown corner, with Leon Hall coming over a serious injury and a bunch of older corners on one year deals on their roster, trading up to get Claiborne is needed.

8) Buccaneers- Luke Kuechly MLB Boston College: The Bucs trade back knowing they didn’t have a chance to get one of the top six players. But they take Luechly and get the force at middle linebacker they have been missing for a while now.

9) Panthers- Fletcher Cox DT Miss St: Cox’s stock has shot up big in the past few weeks and he looks like a likely top 12 pick. The Panthers need a DT in the worst way and Cox is a great pass rusher from the DT spot.

10) Bills- Riley Reiff OT Iowa: The Bills need a left tackle, while Reiff may be better on the right side, the Bills will give him the shot at the left tackle spot he deserves.

11) Chiefs- Mark Baron S Bama: The Chiefs really wanted Kuechly but with him gone they take Baron to pair with 2010 first round pick Eric Berry at safety.

12) Seahawks- Melvin Ingram DE/LB South Carolina: The Seahawks need pass rush help and Ingram is the best rusher in the draft. If Ingram goes to the Seahawks look for them to use at OLB on first and second down but play him at DE on third down.

13) Cardinals- Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame: The Cardinals are looking to add a number two WR option and Floyd is a likely top 15 pick so the Cardinals snatch him up while they can.

14) Cowboys- Dontari Poe NT Memphis: The Cowboys are looking to add a play maker on their defensive line in the first round. Cox would be a better fit as he can play DE in the Cowboys 3-4 defense but Poe has raw talent and a lot of potential.

15) Eagles- Michael Brockers DT LSU: The Eagles are looking to add a big DT to make their “wide-9” defensive scheme more effective. Brockers is the best defensive tackle when it comes to stopping the run in years.

16) Jets- Chandler Jones OLB Syracuse: Jones is rising up draft boards and the Jets are looking to add an OLB early in the draft.

17) Jaguars- Quinton Coples DE UNC: The Jaguars trade down and still got the pass rusher they wanted. While Coples has some red flags he is worth the risk at number 17.

18) Chargers- Nick Perry OLB USC: The Chargers like Perry a lot and need a pass rusher. While Perry played only DE in college he could play OLB in the NFL in the 3-4 defense.

19) Bears- Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina: The Bears traded for Brandon Marshall and with Michael Floyd off the board at this point so WR isn’t an option. They could take an offensive lineman but that defense is starting to get old and their corner depth is thin. Gilmore is in a debate with Dre Kirkpatrick for the second best corner back in the draft. Gilmore makes more big plays than Kirkpatrick so the Bears get a good player at 19.

20) Titans- Courtney Upshaw DE Bama: The Titans are looking at add a pass rusher in the draft. Upshaw played both DE and OLB at Alabama but he has too thick of hips to cover very well so he will likely end up as a left defensive end in the NFL.

21) Bengals- David DeCastro G Stanford: THE DREAM COMES TRUE for the Bengals. They get to trade up and get Claiborne and still have DeCastro fall to number 21. The best part of the dream is the Raiders owe the Bengals either their first or second round pick next year so to give up their second round pick to get Claiborne is no big deal.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Browns trade the #22 overall pick to the Buccaneers for the #36, #72 overall picks and a 2013 third round pick.

Explanation: The Bucs missed out on Claiborne; with a bunch of teams need a corner in the late first round they trade back up to secure a corner back.

22) Buccaneers- Dre Kirkpatrick CB Bama: The Bucs need a new corner and with many teams in the late first round pick that need a corner the Bucs trade back up to make sure they get a good corner.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Lions trade the #23 overall pick to the Bills for the #41, #71 overall picks and a 2013 second round pick.

Explanation: The Bills are considering two positions at number ten, offensive tackle and wide receiver, since they grabbed a tackle at ten and with Kendall Wright slipping the Bills trade back into the first round and get a play maker for QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

23) Bills- Kendall Wright WR Baylor: With Steve Johnson as the Bills number one wide receiver the Bills are looking to add a speedy number two option across from him.

24) Steelers- Cordy Glenn G/T Georgia: The Steelers need to keep Big Ben on his feet more. Glenn can play either guard or right tackle and is a big body lineman.

25) Broncos- Jerel Worthy DT Mich St: The Broncos need to add a new DT to their defensive line rotation.

26) Texans- Jonathan Martin OT Stanford: The Texans need a new starting right tackle after letting Eric Winston go this offseason.

27) Patriots- Whitney Mercilus DE/OLB Illinois: The Patriots need to add pass rushing DEs/OLBs because last year they relied on veterans who have left the team. Mercilus can play either 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB.

28) Packers- Shea McClellin OLB Boise St: The Packers need to find some pass rushers besides Clay Matthews. McClellin isn’t flashy or make a ton of pro bowls but he will be a solid pro with many good seasons.

29) Ravens- Peter Konz C/G Wisconsin: The Ravens need a new starter at left guard with Ben Grubbs going to the Saints in free agency. Plus in a year or two starting center Matt Birk will need replaced.

TRADE ALERT!!! The 49ers trade the #30 overall pick to the Chiefs for the #49, #74 overall picks, a seventh round pick and a 2013 third round pick.

Explanation: The Chiefs really wanted Kuechly at number 11 but they turn to plan B and trade back into the first round and grab another former Bama star.

30) Chiefs- Dont’a Hightower ILB Bama: The Chiefs really want to pair star inside linebacker Derrick Johnson with Kuechly but Hightower is a good backup plan.

31) Patriots- Harrison Smith S Notre Dame: The Patriots are looking to add a safety in the draft. Smith is the clear cut second best safety in the draft and is a play maker in the secondary.

32) Giants- Doug Martin RB Boise St: The Giants let Brandon Jacobs go to the 49ers after they cut him. While Martin isn’t the 260lb bruiser that Jacobs is, he is the second best back in the draft.

33) Rams- Stephen Hill WR GT: The Rams continue to add play makers for QB Sam Bradford. They have a tough choice picking between Hill or OT Mike Adams since which every they don’t take won’t be there at #39.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Colts trade the #34 overall pick and a fifth round pick to the Rams for the #39 and #65 overall picks.

Explanation: The Rams just couldn’t decide so they give up their third round pick to move up five spots to get Adams.

34) Rams- Mike Adams OT Ohio St: The Rams gave Bradford two new weapons now they give him a big left tackle to protect his blind side.

35) Vikings- Janoris Jenkins CB North Alabama: If Jenkins didn’t have off the field issues he would be the second corner drafted by far. Instead he falls into the second round where the Vikings, who need new starters everywhere in the secondary, will gladly take him.

36) Browns- Brandon Weeden QB Okla St: The Browns are the only team who Weeden has visited and they seem like they are going to and grab Weeden at #22 but instead they grab him at #36.

37) Browns- Rueben Randle WR LSU: The Browns added Richardson in round one and then just added Weeden so now they take the WR in Randle.

38) Jaguars- Josh Robinson CB UCF: The Jaguars don’t need a number one corner but adding some depth to a strong defense is a good idea.

39) Colts- Coby Fleener TE Stanford: Andrew Luck has been a Colt for a day and is already having an effect on team decisions. Luck wants a reliable TE to throw to, so the Colts give him is old college buddy.

40) Panthers- Lavonte David OLB Nebraska: David is a border line first round pick and the Panthers need to add depth at linebacker and David can start from day one if the Panthers choice to ask him to do so.

41) Lions- Bobby Massie OT Ole Miss: The Lions need to find their franchise left tackle. While Jeff Backus is back for another year he isn’t the future at left tackle or a franchise like tackle. Massie can ease into his role and make sure QB Matt Stafford stays on his feet.

42) Buccaneers- David Wilson RB VT: The Bucs missed out Richardson which caused them to trade back. Well by passing on Claiborne at number five and trading back and then trading back into the first round to get Kirkpatrick, the Bucs have added a good corner, a future all pro and pro bowl linebacker and now a speedy back.

43) Seahawks- Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin: The Seahawks cut Robert Gallery in the offseason so they need to find his replacement. Zeitler is a first round talent but you never see three guards go in the first round of a NFL Draft.

44) 49ers- Kendall Reyes DE UConn: The 49ers are looking to add players to their defensive line rotation. Reyes played DT at UConn but will play mostly DE in the 49ers 3-4 defense.

45) Cowboys- Vinny Curry OLB Marshall: The Cowboys are looking to add at least one pass rusher in the draft. Curry is a solid prospect who could turn into a great player.

46) Eagles- Devon Still DT Penn St: The Eagles add Still not because of need, as they added Brockers in round one, but as a value pick. Plus Head Coach Andy Reid loves drafting linemen.

47) Jets- Lamar Miller RB Miami: The Jets look to add another running back because they want to go back to running the ball and controlling the clock. Miller give them depth and speedy behind the power back Shonn Greene.

48) Patriots- Derek Wolfe DL Cincinnati: The Patriots add another player to their defense. Wolfe will play DE when the Patriots are in 3-4 defense and DT in 4-3 defense.

49) Chargers- Dwayne Allen TE Clemson: The Chargers need to find the eventual replacement to Antonio Gates soon.

50) Bears- Andre Branch DE Clemson: The Bears want to add a DE opposite of Julius Peppers.

51) Eagles- Brock Oseweiler QB ASU: The Eagles need to find a backup QB they can groom to eventually take over for Michael Vick as the starter.

52) Titans- Zach Brown OLB UNC: The Titans need to get a new starter at OLB. Brown is one of the fastest OLB prospects in years.

53) Jaguars- Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina: The Jaguars want to give QB Blaine Gabbert all the weapons possible to make him a franchise caliber QB.

54) Lions- Trumaine Johnson CB/S Montana: The Lions have two huge needs they need to fill in this draft, offensive tackle and corner back. They grabbed the tackle earlier in the round so they draft a corner here.

55) Falcons- Mitchell Schwartz OT Cal: The Falcons don’t believe that former first round pick Sam Baker is a franchise left tackle and they plan to move him to left guard. So drafting Schwartz to be the left tackle is a need.

56) Steelers- Alameda Ta’amu NT Washington: The Steelers need a young NT to go with the young DEs they have drafted in the first round over the last few years. With current starter Casey Hampton near the end of his career and likely to start the season on the PUP list, the Steelers must draft a noise tackle early.

57) Broncos- LaMichael James RB Oregon: John Fox loves running backs; Peyton Manning loves running backs that can catch. James is in the mold of a Darren Sproles, a catch happy speedy back.

58) Texans- Amini Silatolu G Midwestern St: The Texans continue to replace the right side of their offensive line after cutting both starters in free agency.

59) Packers- Brandon Thompson DL Clemson: The Packers add Thompson for depth in their defensive line rotation. Thompson will likely play DE on first and second downs and then NT on third down for the Packers 3-4 defense.

60) Ravens- Jared Crick DE Nebraska: The Ravens lost Cory Redding in free agency so adding a DE is a need.

61) 49ers- AJ Jenkins WR Illinois: Despite adding Randy Moss and Mario Manningham in free agency, the 49ers still need help at WR. While Jenkins is a raw prospect he has a high potential and could turn into a great pro.

62) Patriots- Bruce Irvin OLB WVU: Irvin is a pure pass rusher, that means he will only be used on third downs but his pass rush skills are so good and the Patriots need pass rush help so bad they reach for him at the end of the second round.

63) Giants- Bobby Wagner LB Utah St: The Giants did just trade for Keith Rivers but he missed all of last season with an injury and the Giants always seem to lose their linebackers to injuries so to add Wagner is a good idea since he can play all three linebacker spots.

64) Colts- Brain Cook WR App St

65) Colts- Ben Jones C/G Georgia

66) Vikings- Brandon Taylor S LSU

67) Browns- Dwight Bentley CB LA-Lafayette

68) Buccaneers- Orson Charles TE Georgia

69) Redskins- Zebrie Sanders OT Florida St

70) Jaguars- Sean Spence LB Miami

71) Lions- Mychal Kendricks LB Cal

72) Browns- TY Hilton WR FIU

73) Vikings- Mohamed Sanu WR Rutgers

74) 49ers- Ronnell Lewis OLB Oklahoma

75) Seahawks- Mike Martin DT Michigan

76) Texans- Juron Criner WR Arizona

77) Jets- Kelechi Osemele G/T Iowa St

78) Chargers- Billy Winn DE Boise St

79) Bears- Brandon Mosley OT Auburn

80) Cardinals- Jayron Hosley CB VT

81) Cowboys- Chase Minnifield CB/S Virginia

82) Titans- Alfonzo Dennard CB Nebraska

My Ninth NFL Mock Draft

Welcome to my ninth 2012 NFL mock draft. This is my fourth three round mock draft. I predict trades in my mock drafts, because that’s what makes this so much fun! But in this draft I will explain some of the trades I have executed.
1) Colts- Andrew Luck QB Stanford: Been the same since day one. NEXT!

2) Redskins- Robert Griffin III QB Baylor: The trade means one thing, RGIII welcome to DC.

3) Vikings- Matt Kalil OT USC: The Vikings have reported decided that unless a trade presents itself they will take Kalil.

4) Browns- Trent Richardson RB Bama: The Browns could take Ryan Tannehill here but decide to take Richardson who will be the focal point to their offense.

5) Buccaneers- Morris Claiborne CB LSU: This pick is their going to be Richardson or Claiborne; since Richardson is gone Claiborne is the selection.

6) Rams- Justin Blackmon WR Okla St: QB Sam Bradford called, he needs a weapon to throw the ball too. Mr. Blackmon meet Mr. Bradford.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Jaguars trade the #7 and #70 overall picks to the Browns for the #22, #37 #67 overall picks, both fourth round picks (Browns and Falcons) and a 2013 third round pick.

Explanation: The Jaguars are in the perfect spot; after the blue chip six players go the Jaguars have their phone open to anyone who wants to make a trade for Ryan Tannehill. The Browns decide to trade up from number 22 to seven and grab the rising QB prospect before the Dolphins take him at eight.

7) Browns- Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A&M: The Browns will likely sit Tannehill for a year and let Colt McCoy get his ass kicked by the Bengals, Ravens, and Steelers. If I'm McCoy, the second the Browns draft Tannehill I demand my release.

8) Dolphins- Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame: The Dolphin really want Tannehill and will likely have to make a trade with the Jaguars to get him (pretty sad when you need to trade up one spot to get a QB who has started 19 college games at QB). With Tannehill gone the Dolphins turn their focus to replacing Brandon Marshall.

9) Panthers- Dontari Poe NT Memphis: Poe has a great raw potential and at 345lbs he can do what the Panthers couldn’t do at all last year, stop the run!

10) Bills- Riley Reiff OT Iowa: With no left tackle on the roster the Bills must take Reiff, even though he isn’t a top ten talenet.

11) Chiefs- Luek Kuechly ILB BC: The Chiefs want to do what the 49ers did. The 49ers had Patrick Willis and add Navorro Bowman too form a great ILB duo in their 3-4 defense. The Chiefs have Derrick Johnson and by adding Luechly they also form a great 1-2 duo at ILB.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Seahawks trade the #12 overall pick to the Chargers for the #18, #78 overall picks, a fifth round pick and a 2013 third round pick.

Explanation: The Seahawks need a DE and can get one at number 18. The Chargers are looking to add a safety to pair with Eric Weddle to give them a great combo.

12) Chargers- Mark Baron S Bama: The Chargers have been looking for the answer at strong safety since Rodney Harrison and a big hitter to pair with the play maker Weddle.

13) Cardinals- Melvin Ingram OLB South Carolina: The Cardinals LOVE Ingram, if he falls to number 13, the Cardinals will be in heaven. Even though the Cardinals have two young pass rushing OLB to add Ingram is a great idea, you can never have enough pass rushers.

14) Cowboys- Fletcher Cox DE Miss St: Cox played DT at Miss St but will slide over to DE in the Cowboys 3-4 defense. He adds youth to an aging defensive line in Dallas.

15) Eagles- Michael Brockers NT LSU: The Eagles need to add a big body DT to their defensive front four and their “wide-9” scheme. Brockers is 325lbs and can stop the run better great for being a redshirt sophomore.

16) Jets- Courtney Upshaw OLB Bama: The Jets want to add an OLB in the draft and have looked at a lot of players but paid a lot of attention at the Bama pro day. Look for the Jets to take Upshaw unless Baron or Ingram is still available.

17) Bengals- David DeCastro G Stanford: The Bengals did just sign guard Jacob Bell but he is on a one year deal. The Bengals love to run the ball and DeCastro is clearly the best run blocking linemen in the draft.

18) Seahawks- Quinton Coples DE UNC: The Seahawks trade back six spots, pick up three more picks, save some money, and still get the player they want. Coples give the Seahawks that big physical DE they want.

19) Bears- Jonathan Martin OT Stanford: The Bears got the big play WR when they traded for Brandon Marshall, now they can help that defense get younger and better or add another offensive lineman. The Bears are looking for a franchise left tackle and while there are questions about Martin’s ability to play left tackle he has protected the blind side for the number one overall pick.

20) Titans- Whitney Mercilus DE Illinois: A one year wonder but still focused nine fumbles last year and the Titans need to add a defensive end early in the draft.

21) Bengals- Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina: The Bengals need to add a corner to their roster. The one glaring spot on their defense is corner back, and Gilmore can make plays happen in press man to man coverage, something the Bengals love to do.

22) Jaguars- Chandler Jones DE Syracuse: The Jaguars have drafted defensive ends before in the draft many times and many times they have been busts. Jones isn’t a flashy or a star prospect but he is a solid DE who will likely plan many years in the NFL.

23) Lions Dre Kirkpatrick CB Bama: The Lions finally add a corner to the terrible defense. They needed a corner before they lost Eric Wright in free agency and with him gone a corner in round one or two is a MUST!

24) Steelers- Cordy Glenn G/T Georgia: The Steelers need to find some good offensive linemen. Glenn played both guard spots and left tackle at Georgia and did pretty well at all three spots. Glenn will likely play guard or right tackle in the NFL but the Steelers need help at both spots.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Broncos trade the #25 overall pick to the Jets for the #47 overall pick and a 2013 first round pick.

Explanation: The Broncos don’t really like any of the prospects available so they trade back and pick up an extra first round pick in 2013.

25) Jets- Dont’a Hightower ILB Bama: Bart Scott has lost many steps over the last two years and his time as a Jet is over. So the Jets trade back into the first round to add Hightower to pair with star ILB David Harris. Hightower played just about everywhere one defense at Bama so his versatility is a bonus.

26) Texans- Kendall Wright WR Baylor: The Texans need a home run threat to keep double and triple teams off Andre Johnson. Playing Wright in the slot on the same side of the field as Johnson will give defensives all kinds of headaches.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Patriots trade the #27 and #62 overall picks to the Rams for the #33 and #39 overall picks.

Explanation: The Rams got their WR at number six now they trade back into the first round to insure they get a potential franchise left tackle. The Patriots always look to trade back but by moving back from number 27 to number 33 they move up from number 62 to number 39.

27) Rams- Mike Adams OT Ohio St: Sam Bradford called again; he needs time to get Blackmon the ball. Mr. Bradford meet your new blindside protector Mr. Adams.

28) Packers- Shea McClellin OLB Boise St: The Packers really like McClellin and need a pass rusher at OLB opposite of Clay Matthews.

29) Ravens- Peter Konz C/G Wisconsin: The Ravens have a lot of interest in Konz, and unless a pass rusher they like a lot slides down far enough to them look for them to take Konz and start him at left guard this year and move him to center next year.

30) 49ers- Stephen Hill WR GT: The 49ers still need a receiver despite adding Randy Moss and Mario Manningham in free agency. Hill is a raw prospect but could turn into a superstar.

31) Patriots- Janoris Jenkins CB North Alabama: The Patriots need a safety and a pass rusher but they will take care of those needs at number 33 and 39. Jenkins has the best man coverage skills in the draft outside of Morris Claiborne.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Giants trade the #32 and #94 overall picks to the Dolphins for the #42, #72 and #73 overall picks and Dolphins 2013 third round pick.

Explanation: The Dolphins missed at getting Ryan Tannehill so they trade back into the first round and draft a QB.

32) Brock Osweiler QB ASU: Now I don’t think Osweiler is a first round talent but some teams do and the Dolphins could be among them, and their thoughts about Osweiler may go up with them missing out of Tannehill. The Dolphins hope Osweiler and Michael Floyd (picked number eight) can form a 1-2 duo like the Bengals Andy Dalton and A.J. Green did last year.

33) Patriots- Harrison Smith S Notre Dame: The Patriots have taken many safeties over the few years and have missed on many. Smith is hoping not to be like them. Smith is a borderline first round pick but more likely to be an early second round pick.

34) Colts- Coby Fleener TE Stanford: Fleener is another borderline first round pick but more likely to go in the second round. A QBs best friend is a tight end who has good hands; well lucky for Luck (I'm so funny! HAHA!!) his old college buddy is still available and the Colts should take him to replace Dallas Clark.

35) Vikings- Josh Robinson CB UCF: The Vikings don’t have much talent at corner back. If the Vikings had a solid left tackle they easily would have taken Morris Claiborne at number three. Robinson isn’t Claiborne but he is the best corner with a second round grade.

36) Buccaneers- Doug Martin RB Boise St: While the Bucs would have loved to get Richardson in the first round they settle for Martin in the second. Martin reminds many people of Ravens RB Ray Rice. If Martin can produce half of what has done in the NFL the Bucs will very happy.

37) Jaguars- Rueben Randle WR LSU: The Jaguars did sign former Cowboys Laurent Robinson in free agency but he is a one year wonder and QB Blaine Gabbert is going to need more than one weapon to throw too. Randle is an underrated prospect in my eyes and the Jaguars are getting a talent at number 37.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Jaguars trade the #38 overall pick to the Bears for the #50 and #79 overall picks.

Explanation: The Bears have been looking to add a defensive end and past on one in the first round. With Nick Perry, a likely late first to early second round pick, sliding the Bears move up to grab him. The Jaguars move down 13 spots and pick up an extra third round pick

38) Bears- Nick Perry DE USC: The Bears are looking to upgrade the other defensive end spot opposite of Julius Peppers; Perry is a late first round prospect but is likely to slide into the early second round.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Patriots trade the #39 overall pick to the Falcons for the #55 overall pick and a 2013 second round pick.

Explanation: The Falcons are moving last year’s left tackle Same Baker to left guard since he struggled at left tackle. A replacement is needed and with few left tackles in the draft they trade up to secure they get one.

39) Falcons- Bobby Massie OT Ole Miss: The Falcons need a left tackle; Massie is the only remaining true left tackle in the draft.

40) Panthers- Lavonte David OLB Nebraska: The Panthers have no depth at linebacker and could use a new starter on the outside. David is shooting up draft boards and is a likely number 27-42 pick.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Bills trade the #41 overall pick to the Broncos for the #47 overall pick and the Jets fourth round pick.

Explanation: The Broncos traded out of the first round but still need to find a starting defensive tackle. The Broncos really like Jerel Worthy and were considering taking him with their number 25 pick. So they trade up six spots to jump over teams like the Giants and Eagles who are looking to add a DT.

41) Broncos- Jerel Worthy DT Mich St: If Worthy played more consistent he would be a top 20 pick but he slides and the Broncos really like him so they do what they can to make sure he is in Denver next year.

42) Giants- David Wilson RB Virginia Tech: The Giants let Brandon Jacobs go this off season and while no running back can replace his 265lb pounding style of running, the Giants need to add a running back early in the draft.

43) Seahawks- Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin: The Seahawks did just sign Deuce Lutui in free agency but he is on a one year deal and is more likely a backup. Zeitler is a member of that strong tradition of offensive line coming from Wisconsin.

TRADE ALERT!!! The Chiefs trade the #44 overall pick to the Chargers for the #49 overall pick and a fourth round pick.

Explanation: The Chargers did just resigned Luis Castillo after releasing him earlier in the offseason but he is on a one year deal and is 28 years old with injury concerns. The Chargers want to boost their defense in the draft so look for them to add another DE to pair with last year’s first round pick Corey Liuget.

44) Chargers- Kendall Reyes DE UConn: The Chargers want to add another year DE to their defensive line rotation. Reyes is a late first to mid second round prospect and fits well in the Chargers 3-4 defense.

45) Cowboys- Andre Branch OLB Clemson: The Cowboys didn’t improve their defensive front seven during free agency so they spend their first two picks on improving the front seven. Branch is a long armed DE who will switch to OLB in the Cowboys 3-4 defense.

46) Eagles- Devon Still DT Penn St: Yes the Eagles did just spend a first round pick on a big body defensive tackle but Still is too good of a talent to let slip through their hands. Still is more of a pass rushing DT while Brockers is better against the run, but to Head Coach Andy Reid you can’t have too many good linemen.

47) Bills- Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina: The Bills would like to find a play maker opposite of Stevie Johnson. Jeffery is a big WR and will keep double teams off Johnson in the red zone.

48) Patriots- Vinny Curry DE/OLB Marshall: The Patriots added depth and talent at corner and safety in this draft, now they turn to fixing their pass rush. Curry played at Marshall and because of the lack of elite talent in conference-USA he will slid into the mid to late second round pick but he is a top 40 talent.

49) Chiefs- Dwight Bentley CB LA-Lafayette: The Chiefs did lose Brandon Carr in free agency but did add former Raider Stanford Routt so that’s a wash at corner but they still could use some depth.

50) Jaguars- Lamar Miller RB Miami: Now while MJD is not slowing down or anything but what if the worst should happen and he tears an ACL or breaks an ankle. The Jaguars have no depth at RB and will Miller still on the board at number 50, the Jaguars can’t pass on Miller and his talent.

51) Eagles- Brandon Weeden QB Okla St: The Eagles are not going to bring back Vince Young (good move!) but they need to find a backup for Michael Vick and someone who can play those two or three games a season Vick is hurt. Weeden is going to be a 29 year old rookie but he has talent to be a top 40 pick; a good investment by the Eagles at number 51.

52) Titans: Zach Brown OLB UNC: The Titans need a new OLB; Brown is one of the fastest OLB in draft history. The Titans need an OLB who can cover RBs and TEs one on one and Brown can do that.

53) Bengals- Mychal Kendricks MLB Cal: The Bengals added a guard and corner back in the first round, their two biggest needs. Now they need to add some depth at their linebacker spots. Kendricks played MLB at Cali but could slide over to the weak side in the NFL if needed.

54) Lions- Zebrie Sanders OT Florida St: Sanders can play either left or right tackle and with the Lions having solid starters at both tackle spots Sanders won’t have to start right away but the Lions hope he can turn into franchise QB Matt Stafford’s blind side protector.

55) Patriots- Derek Wolfe DL Cincinnati: Wolfe can play either DT in the 4-3 or DE in the 3-4. Since the Patriots like to use both Wolfe gives them flexibility and another young talent along the defensive line.

56) Steelers- Brandon Thompson NT Clemson: The Steelers are looking to make their defense younger, they need to get a new noise tackle since Casey Hampton is likely to start the season on the PUP list and with long time Steeler Chris Hoke retiring this position is in need of some help.

57) Broncos- Trumaine Johnson CB/S Montana: The Broncos are looking to upgrade at corner and safety and Johnson gives them flexibility since he can play both corner and safety.

58) Texans- Amini Silatolu G Midwestern St: The Texans had to let their starting right side of their offensive line go in free agency since they were up against the cap and had to keep Adrian Foster. Silatolu is a little know prospect but if he played at Wisconsin he would be a first round pick.

59) Packers- Dwayne Allen TE Clemson: The Packers don’t need a TE since they resigned Jermichael Finley but it’s only a two year deal and they don’t have a great number two option at TE if Finley get hurt. Allen is much better than the number 59 overall prospect so the Packers take Allen and give Rodgers another weapon.

60) Ravens- Brandon Taylor S LSU: The Ravens are looking to find the eventual replacement for Ed Reed. Taylor is a physical safety who is rising up draft boards over the last six weeks.

61) 49ers- Jared Crick DE Nebraska: The 49ers need to add a young player to their defensive end rotation. Crick in the best pure 3-4 DE in the draft and a solid pick up at pick number 61.

62) Rams- LaMichael James RB Oregon: The Rams don’t need a running back but James is a change of pace speed back and will be a great third down option for the Rams. With the Rams three first picks they focus on making Sam Bradford a better franchise QB.

63) Giants- Mohamed Sanu WR Rutgers: The Giants lost Mario Manningham to the 49ers in free agency and while they have some young players at WR, you can’t have too many good WRs.

64) Colts- Ben Jones C/G Georgia

65) Rams- Jayron Hosley CB Virginia Tech

66) Vikings- Brain Cook WR App St

67) Jaguars- Chase Minnifield CB/S Virginia

68) Buccaneers- A.J. Jenkins WR Illinois: Now yes I know the Buccaneers have three good receivers and depth behind those starting three but what if the worst should happen and one or two of them get hurt and miss a lot of games, the Bucs will be happy having another WR on the roster. Jenkins isn’t a star but in a few years he could become a very good number two option at WR.

69) Redskins- Mitchell Schwartz OT Cal: The Redskins have reportedly already decided they will take an offensive tackle with this pick and maybe take another offensive lineman with one of their two fourth round picks. Now that the Redskins have RGIII they need to protect him.

70) Browns- Nick Toon WR Wisconsin

71) Bills- Kirk Cousins QB Mich St

72) Giants- Bobby Wagner LB Utah St

73) Giants- Alfonzo Dennard CB Nebraska

74) Chiefs- Ronell Lewis OLB Oklahoma

75) Seahawks- Sean Spence LB Miami

76) Texans- Billy Winn DE Boise St

77) Jets- Kelechi Osemele G/T Iowa St

78) Seahawks: Isaiah Pead RB Cincinnati

79) Jaguars- Joe Adams WR Arkansas

80) Cardinals- Brandon Mosley OT Arkansas

81) Cowboys- Alameda Ta’amu NT Washington

82) Titans- Marvin Jones WR Cal

83) Bengals- George Iloka S Boise St

84) Falcons- Orson Charles TE Georgia

85) Lions- Cam Johnson DE Virginia

86) Steelers- Casey Hayward CB Vanderbilt

87) Broncos- Chris Givens WR Wake Forest

88) Eagles- Greg Childs WR Arkansas

89) Saints- Tommy Streeter WR Miami

90) Packers- Josh Chapman NT Bama

91) Ravens- Bruce Irvin OLB WVU

92) 49ers- Matt McCants OT UAB

93) Patriots- Tyrone Crawford DE Boise St

94) Dolphins- Mike Martin DT Michigan

95) Raiders- Brandon Boykins CB Georgia
