1) Colts- Andrew Luck QB Stanford: Manning to Denver. Luck to Indy.
NEXT!
2) Redskins- Robert Griffin III QB Baylor:
Luck goes #1, Redskins picking at #2, need a QB? RGIII. NEXT!
3) Vikings- Matt
Kalil OT USC: There are some reports that the Vikings are going to take CB
Morris Claiborne with this pick. I don’t believe it.
4) Browns-
Trent Richardson RB Bama: The Browns need a focal point to their offense. They
may trade down but if they stay at four Richardson is the likely pick.
5) Buccaneers-
Morris Claiborne CB LSU: This pick will either be Richardson or Claiborne, with
Richardson gone Claiborne is the choice.
6) Rams- Justin
Blackmon WR Okla St: QB Sam Bradford needs a true number one WR; Blackmon is
what they need most.
7) Jaguars-
Melvin Ingram DE South Carolina: The Jaguars have been trying to find a pass
rush for what seems like since the franchise started way back when. Ingram has
shown great flash and talent as a pass rusher despite being under 6-2.
8) Dolphins-
Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A&M: The Dolphins need someone to be the center of
this team. After missing out of Manning and Matt Flynn , Tannehill is the
Dolphins third choice to build their franchise around.
TRADE ALERT!!!
The Panthers trade the #9 overall pick to the Cardinals for the #13, #82
overall picks and a sixth round pick.
9) Cardinals- Riley
Reiff OT Iowa: The Cardinals need a franchise left tackle, while Reiff isn’t Kalil
he is the clear cut number two OT in the draft.
10) Bills-
Michael Floyd WR Norte Dame: The Bills truly need a franchise left tackle but I
think they will pass on Stanford’s Jonathan Martin for Floyd.
11) Chiefs-
Dontari Poe NT Memphis: The Chiefs have a good young defense but need a true NT
to complete it. Poe is the best pure NT in the draft.
12) Seahawks-
David DeCastro G Stanford: The Seahawks continue to rebuild their offensive
line with DeCastro giving them a great run blocking offensive line.
13) Panthers-
Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina: A reach for Gilmore but the Panthers need a
corner in the worst way.
14) Cowboys-
Fletcher Cox DE Miss St: Cox played DT in college but will slide over to DE in
the Cowboys 3-4 defense. Cox is a wide big body defensive lineman the Cowboys
like.
15) Eagles-
Luke Kuechly MLB Boston College: Even though the Eagles just traded for Demeco
Ryans adding Luechly to a linebacker group that couldn’t tackle a middle school
running back isn’t a bad idea at all.
16) Jets-
Quinton Coples DE/OLB UNC: Coples’ slide ends and the Jets take a fly on the
big man. At 6’6 280lbs he is a clear cut 4-3 DE but with the Jets 3-4 defense
he may be used as a tweener and play both OLB and DE.
17) Bengals-
Dre Kirkpatrick CB Bama: The Bengals lost Jonathon Joseph in free agency last year
and with Leon Hall getting hurt last year cornerback is the top need for the
Bengals in this draft.
18) Chargers-
Cordy Glenn G/T Georgia: The Chargers re-signed their starting left tackle and
center this offseason but lost their starting left guard to and early
retirement. Glenn will likely make his money at guard in the NFL but can play
either tackle spot in a pinch.
19) Bears-
Jonathan Martin OT Stanford: The Bears have done a great job in free agency this
offseason. Adding Martin gives the Bears a book end tackle to go with last year’s
first round pick Gabe Carimi.
20) Titans-
Michael Brockers DT LSU: The Titans lost Jason Jones in free agency and the
defensive line needed upgraded before Jones left.
21) Bengals- Dont’a
Hightower MLB Bama: This is a reach for Hightower but the Bengals continue to
add to this defense with a force in the middle.
22) Browns-
Kendall Wright WR Baylor: The Browns have added two get weapons to the offense
in the first round. Richardson gives them the all-around running back they covet
and Wright gives them the home run threat at WR they need.
23) Lions- Mark
Baron S Bama: While safety isn’t the biggest need for the Lions adding him with
former first round pick Louis Delmas, giving the Lions a scaring combo at
safety.
24) Steelers-
Mike Adams OT Ohio St: The Steelers need to find a true franchise left tackle
to pair with last year’s second round pick Marcus Gilbert to keep Big Ben
upright.
TRADE ALERT!!!
The Broncos trade the #25 overall pick to the Patriots for the #31 and #95
overall picks.
Explanation: With the Texans picking right
before the Patriots do at #27 and possibly looking to add an OLB to help
replace Mario Williams, the Patriots give up the late third round pick to move
up six spots to insure they get Upshaw before the Texans take him at #26.
25) Patriots-
Courtney Upshaw DE Bama: The Patriots dealt with their WR concerns in free
agency, adding three speedy WRs. Now they turn their need to fixing that
defense and first thing is to find someone who can rush the QB.
TRADE ALERT!!!
The Texans trade the #26 overall pick to the Browns for the #37 and #68 overall
picks, plus the teams will swap fourth round picks (the fourth round pick the
Texans got in the Ryans trade).
26) Browns-
Nick Perry DE USC: The Browns had a real quit free agency after missing out on
the RGIII sweepstakes. So for plan B they draft three guys in the first round,
the first two to help the offense and the third to get Perry who will play DE
opposite of last year’s second round pick Jabaal Sheard.
27) Patriots-
Janoris Jenkins CB North Alabama: The Patriots could do DE here again but with
Perry gone, Jenkins is a great plan B. The Patriots always seem to need another
CB and Jenkins has the potential to turn into a great player if he can get his
act together off the field.
28) Packers-
Whitney Mercilus OLB Illinois: With the signing of former Colt center Jeff Saturday
the Packers can wait until the later rounds to find the long term replacement
at center. Instead in round one the Packers add the pass rush skilled OLB
Mercilus.
29) Ravens-
Peter Konz C/G Wisconsin: The Ravens lost Ben Grubbs in free agency so Konz
will likely start there from day one and move to center when Matt Birks
retires.
30) 49ers-
Stephen Hill WR Georgia Tech: The 49ers signed Randy Moss and Mario Manningham
this offseason to boost their WR group but adding Hill would be a smart move.
Hill likely won’t help much this season or next but in three years he could be
the best WR in this draft.
31) Broncos-
Rueben Randle WR LSU: With Manning now aboard adding another WR weapon for the
Broncos should be their game plan for round one.
32) Giants-
Doug Martin RB Boise St: Martin who just two months ago was a third round or so
prospect ends up going in the first round to replace Brandon Jacobs.
33) Colts- Zach
Brown OLB UNC: Brown is a true boom-or-bust prospect but the Colts are
rebuilding from square one so taking a risk on Brown is worth it at 33 overall.
34) Rams- Bobby
Massie OT Ole Miss: The Rams grab the OT the need here in the second round.
Massie is a borderline first round pick.
35) Vikings-
Harrison Smith S Norte Dame: The Vikings secondary needs to be completely
re-done. Smith is a ball hawk safety that could be the beginning of the
remaking of the Vikings secondary.
TRADE ALERT!!!
The Panthers trade the #40 overall pick and a fifth round pick in 2012 and 2013
to the Buccaneers for the #36 overall pick.
Explanation: The Panthers trade up four
spots to jump ahead of the Jaguars and Rams who both have needs at DT.
36) Panthers-
Jerel Worthy DT Mich St: The Panthers got the corner they needed in round one
so to grab the run stopping DT is the need in round two.
37) Texans-
Andre Branch OLB Clemson: With Mario Williams gone in free agency a “swing OLB”
is going to be needed for depth or incase either of the starters get hurt.
38) Jaguars-
Kendall Reyes DT UConn: The Jaguars need to add some depth at DT since their
starters can’t stay healthy.
39) Rams- Josh
Robinson UCF: Despite adding former Titans CB Cortland Finnegan to a new fat
contract a new starter is needed opposite of him.
40) Buccaneers-
David Wilson RB VT: If the Bucs go corner in first round, a speed RB will be
the second round choice, if they go RB in round one CB will be picked in round
two.
41) Bills-
Brandon Weeden QB Okla St: Weeden is drafted to push or even take over for
starter Ryan Fitzpatrick if he fails to live up to his contract.
42) Dolphins-
Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina: When they traded away Brandon Marshall they
left a gaping hole at WR. Jeffery has slipped but the Dolphins need to add a
WR.
43) Seahawks-
Vinny Curry DE Marshall: The Seahawks should add some depth to their defensive
line despite the moves they made in free agency.
TRADE ALERT!!!
The Chiefs trade the #44 overall pick to the Bears for the #50 overall pick and
a fifth round pick.
Explanation: The Bears need a to draft a TE
early in the draft, to move ahead of the Chargers who could be looking for the
future replacement for Antonio Gates and make sure they get the top TE in the
draft.
44) Bears- Coby
Fleener TE Stanford: The Bears need a starting TE, a 6’6 Fleener is a big body
pass catching TE who is also under rated as a blocker.
45) Cowboys-
Dwight Bentley CB LA-Lafayette: While corner is not a huge need, adding a young
play maker on the outside or in the slot is not a bad idea.
46) Eagles-
Devon Still DT Penn St: The Eagles need a big body DT to go alone with that “wide
9” defensive line scheme.
47) Jets-
Mohamed Sanu WR Rutgers: The Jets need to find another weapon for whichever QB
is starting week one.
48) Patriots-
Lamar Miller RB Miami: With “The Law Firm” going to the Bengals a replacement
is needed, while it may come from in house. Adding Miller is a value decision pick
here.
49) Chargers-
Dwayne Allen TE Clemson: As mentioned before, the Chargers need to find a
replacement for Gates sooner rather than later. Allen is the second best TE in
the draft and could use a year or two to learn from Gates.
50) Chiefs-
Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin: The Chiefs either need to add a guard in round one
or two, by drafting a NT in round one, guard is the pick in round two.
51) Eagles-
Kirk Cousins QB Mich St: The Eagles drafted Kevin Kolb way back when to be the
eventual replacement to Donavan McNabb. Cousins could be the replacement to
Michael Vick.
52) Titans- Lavonte
David OLB Nebraska: The Titans need depth at all three linebacker spots and could
use a starter on the outside. David is the second best 4-3 OLB in the draft.
TRADE ALERT!!!
The Bengals trade the #53 overall pick and a seventh round pick to the Ravens
for the #61, and #93 overall picks.
Explanation: Ravens trade up ahead of the
Falcons to insure they draft the pass rush OLB they want.
53) Ravens-
Chandler Jones OLB Syracuse: With Jarret Johnson leaving in free agency a
replacement will be needed.
54) Lions-
Zebrie Sanders OT Florida St: A replacement for long time starting left tackle Jeff
Backus is needed despite that Backus resigned with the team. Sanders could
start at right tackle or “swing tackle” until he is needed to start. He could
also play guard in a pinch too.
TRADE ALERT!!!
The Falcons trade the #55 overall pick and a sixth round pick to the Broncos
for the #57 overall pick and the fourth round pick acquired from the Jet in the
Tim Tebow trade.
55) Broncos-
Trumaine Johnson CB/S Montana: The Broncos jump up two spots to get ahead of
the Steelers who will be looking to add a corner to their defense. Even though
they signed former Saints CB Tracy Porter it is only for one year so still
drafting at least one corner is needed. Plus Johnson can play safety too.
56) Steelers-
Brandon Thompson NT Clemson: The Steelers need a new starting NT and if they
can get Thompson at #56, they will be getting a steal.
57) Falcons-
Cam Johnson DE Virginia: Despite bringing back DE John Abraham in free agency
adding a young DE is needed.
58) Texans-
Jared Crick DE Nebraska: Crick is one of the better 3-4 DEs in this draft,
while DE is not a huge need, this is a value pick for the Texans.
59) Saints- The
Saints will forfeit this pick due to the Bounty Program.
60) Packers-
Philip Blake C Baylor: Despite signing Saturday in free agency he doesn’t have
much left in the tank and a replacement will be needed at some point. Blake can
also play guard if needed.
61) Bengals-
Amini Silatolu G Midwestern St: The Bengals need to walk away from this draft
with at least one new guard. Silatolu is rising up draft boards.
62) 49ers-
Chase Minnifield CB/S Virginia: The 49ers need to add some depth to defense.
TRADE ALERT!!!
The Patriots trade the #63 overall pick to the Chiefs for the #83 overall pick
and a fourth round pick.
63) Chiefs-
BrockOsweiler QB ASU: The Chiefs can’t go into the 2012 season with just Matt
Cassel and Brady Quinn as their QBs on the roster. A young prospect must be
brought in to push and possibly replace the starter Cassel.
64) Giants-
Ronnell Lewis DE Oklahoma: Not a need but a value pick, adding more pass rush
to an already dangerous front four for the Giants is just icing ontop of the
cake.
65) Colts-
Orson Charles TE Georgia
66) Rams-
LaMichael James RB Orgeon
67) Vikings-
Nick Toon WR Wisconsin
68) Texans-
Andrew Datkio OT Florida St
69) Buccaneers-
Mychael Kendricks MLB California
70) Redskins-
Lamar Homles OT Southern Miss
71) Jaguars-
Joe Adams WR Arkansas
72) Bills-
Jayron Hosley CB Virginia Tech
73) Dolphins-
Sean Spence LB Miami
74) Bears- Mike
Martin DT Michigan
TRADE ALERT!!!
The Patriots trade the #75 overall pick to the Cowboys for the #83 overall pick
and a fifth round pick.
Explanation: The Cowboys may move NT Jay Ratliff
to DE so adding depth at NT is needed, the need to move up six spots to jump
over the Texans at #77.
75) Alameda Ta’amu
NT Washington
76) Seahawks-
Bobby Wagner LB Utah St:
77) Texans-
Brain Cook WR App St
78) Jets-
Brandon Brooks G Miami (OH)
79) Raiders-
USED PICK ON TERELLE PRYOR IN 2011 SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT
80) Chargers-
Bruce Irvin OLB WVU
81) Dolphins-
Kelechi Osemele G/T Iowa St
82) Panthers-
Alfonzo Dennard CB Nebraska
83) Patriots-
Brandon Taylor S LSU
84) Titans-
Isaih Pead RB Cincinnati
85) Bengals-
Chris Polk RB Washington
86) Falcons-
Ladarius Green TE LA-Lafayette
87) Lions-
Casey Hayward CB Vanderbilt
88) Steelers-
Mitchell Schwartz OT California
89) Broncos-
Demario Davis OLB Arkansas St
90) Eagles-
Chris Givens WR Wake Forest
91) Saints-
Jamell Fleming CB Oklahoma
92) Packers-
Nick Foles QB Arizonia: The Packers take Foles not to start or even be Aaron
Rodgers backup but to be the third string QB that the Packers could develop and
trade in a few years. A value pick here.
93) Bengals-
Tommy Streeter WR Miami
94) 49ers-
James Brown G/T Troy
95) Broncos-
Billy Winn DT Boise St
96) Keenan
Robinson MLB Texas
